Mother of God, hope of all Christians, shield, protect and keep those that hope in thee. In the law we discover, we faithful, beneath the obscurity of the letter, a figure: every firstborn male is given unto the Lord. Therefore we magnify the Word firstborn, Son of the eternal Father, Firstborn of the Virgin Mother.
